Name & Lien Services

You should search the Personal Property Registry before buying personal property or accepting personal property as collateral for a loan. The search result will tell you if the personal property is subject to another registration, it also protects the rights of buyers and creditors.

The Alberta Personal Property Registry Electronic System does not record the amount owing/involved for some registrations. Persons requesting searches should contact the secured party or creditor for more information.

When you are buying a vehicle you should check to see if there are any liens against it. You don't want to find that you have become liable for an unpaid debt on the car you are buying. This information is not confidential and is available to the public. We will search the personal property database for liens and registered encumbrances on a wide variety of items including motor vehicles. Search criteria include vehicle identification numbers, serial numbers, lien registration numbers, persons and companies.

Name Searches

Individuals, Proprietorship/ Trade Name, Partnership, Corporation and Society Name searches are conducted in Alberta by authorized users on the Alberta Government database.

Individual Debtor Name Search- This determines if there are any registrations for a specific individual debtor name.

Business Debtor Name Search- This determines if there are any registrations for a specific business debtor name.

Business Secured Party Search- This determines if there are any registrations for a specific organization.

We provide land title searches, certified copies of land titles and historical searches. All land title information and documents help by the Alberta Land Titles office are public information. We have access to search the Alberta Land Titles database by legal description of the land only.

Currently, the submission of documents for registration (i.e. Transfers, Mortgages & other encumbrances) is a manuel process with the Alberta Government. Documents must still be submitted directly to one of the two Alberta Land Titles Offices.

Land Title records may be searched either by way of Civic Address or the legal land description:
Civic address example: 9606 Casey Way, Peace River, Alberta
Legal address example: Plan 223AB block A Lot 11
